The Spanish Economic Association was founded in December, 1996.


In the words of its articles of asssociation, the main goal of the Spanish Economic Association is the promotion and dissemination of scientific knowledge in Economics through the organization of congresses, publications and in general any other activity that may further that declared aim. The association therefore offers important services for the development of scientific activity in Spain in the area of economics. 

The regular activities of the Spanish Economic Association include:

* The organization of the Simposio de la Asociación Española de Economia.

* The publication of the SERIEs-Journal of the Spanish Economic Association.

* The organization of the Job Market for new PhD in Economics.
